FD001: model railway exhibition - ...let's make a vow

Forward Defensive is pleased to announce the release on 9th July of model railway exhibition’s first EP …let’s make a vow.

Described by Thisisapopscene as “a 5-track masterclass in shoegaze noise pop," and “one of the best EP’s you’re going to hear all year," the EP follows the release in January of the band’s debut single Jennifer’s Brother on Verulamium Records, with its "hypnotic juxtaposition of heavenly vocals and onslaught of guitars,” (Faded Glamour).

Now a two-piece, the EP was recorded with singer Vanessa Cazorla before her departure (the band are currently searching for a replacement) and represents a move toward more direct indie pop; whilst retaining the wall of guitars and processed beats of earlier recordings.

The band adheres to a DIY approach: the EP was recorded, produced and mixed by the band. The artwork was created by Matt Franks with guitarist Stuart Harrison.

Three of the tracks are available for streaming below and a video accompanies Hubbert’s Bridge and For your campfires.

You can buy the EP on compact disc or download from Bandcamp for £2.

This is the first release by Forward Defensive, with more to come.
